Serving the cities of South San Francisco, Millbrae and Brisbane, South San Francisco Scavenger Company and Blue Line Transfer Station are actively rolling out compliant carts to meet the new organic recovery requirements. The facilities process over 11,200 tons of food waste and green waste material annually, generating over 100,000 gallons of renewable natural gas and 7,500 tons of compost from their anaerobic digestion facility.
